Obituary for Jonathon David "Jon" Ogden

OGDEN, JONATHON DAVID -
Ogden, Jonathon David born June 24, 1988. Jon lost his battle with bipolar disorder July 11, 2019, in his 32nd year. Too few years for so bright a shining star.

Jon is so loved by his proud parents, David and Michelle. We are so proud of his many accomplishments, our sweet and strong boy. His sisters Sarah (Tristan), Jessica and Melanie (Sean) love him to the moon and back. The sister/ brother bond between all of us will always be cherished, and now holds an empty space in our hearts. His nephew David loved him and delighted in their “Cookie Monster” fun. Jon’s friends were loyal, and he made many happy memories with them with lots of laughs. His Nana Joan Ogden and late grandparents, Grampie Elmer Ogden and Grandma Margaret and Grandpa Russell Ruttan loved him dearly and he brought such joy to their lives. He has many happy memories with aunts, uncles and cousins. Lots of fun gaming with Geoff. Jon is and will always be so loved by so many. He was a gifted athlete, a talented hockey and basketball player, who won Rookie of the Year playing basketball at Queen’s University. He was ecstatic to see his Raptors take the title this year! Jon also enjoyed his time on the golf course and on the water fishing with his Dad. He was an incredibly hardworking, handsome, outgoing and lovable young man. We will always remember our beloved Jon for all he was and is. He fought hard and bravely for a long time against mental illness. In his memory we will live fully, loudly, with passion and in full colour as he did. You’ll always be with us Jon, when we’re out camping or hiking in a spot you would love, in the rush of watching an awesome play in a basketball game, in laughter at a silly joke, in everything forever.

Jon’s family will receive friends for visitation at the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588) on Monday evening from 6:00 til 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, July 16th, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. with visitation for ½ hour prior to the service. Interment in the family plot at Foxboro Cemetery.
